Husband and wife team Stephen and Juliette Wall have opened their fifth Vietnamese street food restaurant Pho in Soho. Pho serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. The menu includes traditional pho noodle soups and other authentically prepared Vietnamese foods including goi (salads), bun vermicelli noodles and side dishes such as goi cuon and cha gio (summer and spring rolls).

Following the success of Indian Zing and Indian Zest, Chef Manoj Vasaikar has opened a third restaurant - Indian Zilla - in Barnes. The dining room, which seats 40, is a relaxed space dominated by a large skylight and decorated with colourful Indian fabrics. The menu includes his signature vegetable bhanavla (a modern take on the onion bhaji), mussel rasam, and Khyber Pass raan (braised shank of lamb in a strongly spiced gravy).

Russell Norman's first Polpo offshoot has opened above The French House in Soho. Polpetto has just 28 seats and the bijou dining room features handmade zinc tables and reclaimed mirrors and light fittings. The menu of Venetian small plates includes Polpo classics as well as new dishes like soft shell crab in Parmesan batter, osso bucco and pigeon saltimbocca.

Eco-friendly vegetarian chain, Otarian, has opened its first London branch on Wardour Street. The menu is a mix of soups, salads, wraps, meat-free burgers and 'hearties' like lasagne, tacos and curries. Regular diners can earn Carbon Karma reward points and the menu even tells you how much CO2 you've saved by eating their sustainable veggie options.

New Kilburn burger house recently opened by a Hawksmoor employee. The name comes from the abbreviation of cheeseburger in Brazil, where 'x' (xis) sounds the same as the way some Brazilians mispronounce 'cheese'. It is currently open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am - 11:00pm for eat-in and take-out. They also deliver between 6pm and 10.30pm.

Set over two floors, the venue featured exposed brickwork, rustic oak flooring and floor-to-ceiling wine racks at street level. The Tuscan-inspired menu includes dishes like spinach and ricotto gnocchi; pork salami with shallots; and pickled octopus.

Frank's pop-up cafe and campari bar has reopened on the roof of Peckham's multi-storey car park. It might not be the most glamorous of settings but it was a huge hit with local art students and South London foodies last year.
